Black Creek Farms began producing maple
products in 1980 in the small hamlet of Croghan, (Home of the American Maple
Museum). Situated at the Foothills
of the Adirondack Mountains in upstate
New York.
Starting with about 100
trees and using an open fire and flat
pans, the sap was boiled to perfection.
As word spread about the fine quality
syrup, increasing demand necessitated the
tapping of over 500 trees.
Today over 16,000 taps
produces over 2000 gallons of Maple Syrup
annually. After being processed in a
modern Sugar House with a 5 x 16
evaporator, purified with a micropore
filter press, it is packaged to meet
strict criteria to bear the New York
State Seal of Quality.
Black Creek Farms has a new
product line which includes: Maple Cream,
Maple Butter, Maple Jelly, and Maple
Sugar Candy. We have also created some
new and exciting palate pleasers such as:
Maple Strawberry Butter, and Maple Peanut
Butter Sugar Candy, with more ideas on
the horizon.
